HYPNOSIS; WHAT IS IT? - by John LeVae

Good question, and indeed that is the way most people refer to hypnosis, as “IT”. Clients often ask me: what is it good for? Will it work? Is it safe? Will it wear off? What if it doesn’t work? Will it control me? Millions of questions, are all to do with the mysterious, “IT”. Well in the past and in order to avoid long winded explanations, I have simply indicated that “IT is YOU”. However I am aware, that “IT is YOU” for some, is rather vague. So, as a means of greater explanation imagine your two minds as your human computer, where your conscious mind is your keyboard, mouse, or prompting device and your sub-conscious mind your hard drive which, not only contains the programs you are prompting, but also actuates them through your brain\body into your physical environment. Therefore, imagine hypnosis or “IT” as the operating system of your human computer.

Yes there is and shall always be a great difference between the human computer and the material computer. The main difference is that the human computer is designed to create, and the material computer can only ever assist and facilitate creativity. We must create the programming for our material computers to use. Even now the human computer is conceived already containing the programming that humankind may not utilize for another 10,000 years. Indeed everything that the human beings of the planet earth shall ever conceive, or invent, or create is already contained within the sub-conscious of each and every one of us (as it always has and will be). It is simply waiting for the right time when necessity causes one or more of us to prompt it into existence.

The operating systems of the material computer are evolving. The human computers hypnotic operating system is as it always has and will be: perfect in every conceivable way. It can only evolve as seen fit by its original creator. However, the human hypnotic operating system is subject to a virus that has and is causing far greater damage to the people of planet earth, than any of the viruses that have or shall ever infect the material computer. I have described this virus (in my article “The Adam Machine and The Duality in Nature”) as “negative emotional content”.

The human computer is affected by “negative emotional content” in a similar way that material computers are affected by their viruses, causing ever greater degrees of dysfunctions, loss of control and undesirable remote manipulations to occur. Similar to the material computer, the human hypnotic operating system is provided with anti-virus programs to deal with “negative emotional content”. However, the firewall of the human computer is not fully developed and fully operational until the age of maturity. Therefore, it is primarily during this pre-maturity time frame that the human computer (especially the child form) is most vulnerable to contracting this virus by exposure to a negative environment created and promoted by other already infected human computers.

The original exposure can, in some cases, come from an early experience based on a misconception where you thought something was one way but in reality it turns out to be something completely different. In all cases the exposure to the negative environment also serves to compound or cause to grow ever larger and more obviously pronounced the original (and in the majority of cases very small and at first seemingly insignificant) virus.

Hypnosis therapies continue to discover and utilize these anti-virus programs to ever greater and more efficient degrees. In our present time, and only with the permission of the conscious mind, the most highly skilled and experienced professional hypnotherapist can work in a comfortable cooperation with the sub-conscious mind (from age 9 onward) to eliminate the virus of “negative emotional content” in the human computer. By utilizing Hypnosis, it is possible, in the majority of cases, to return to the original state of operation and function that I have described (in my article “The Adam Machine and The Duality in Nature”) as “positive alignment and projection”. In this state the human computer contains and operates only its natural completely positive programs with a fully functioning firewall that prevents future infection, all driven only by “positive emotional content”.

Anything that utilizes negative emotional content is never to be used. For example, utilize the analogy proposed in this article to indicate the equivalent in logic of utilizing negative pretense and reinforcement with the human computer. Imagine you have purchased the most sophisticated, most expensive computer that money can possibly buy. You take it home and simply ignore it or, before you even take it out of the box, start yelling and screaming, cursing and belittling it, while you slap and kick it about the room. Compound this further by blaming the difficulties that result on the computer. These are hardly the desirable forms of prompting for the sophisticated human computer.

Therefore, I must emphatically point out that similar to the material computer, the most desirable solution is not to infect the human computer in the first place. How? By allowing your selves to become aware that no programming is necessary with the human computer because it comes from the factory fully programmed to begin with. All that is required is a positive environment and tools that utilize only positive premises. Then demonstrated and promoted with only calm, rational, logical actions, thus nurturing only ever more positive emotional content (i.e. self-esteem\self-confidence), the continuing result is a greater positive creativity and the ever growing self-awareness that one can accomplish anything with a virus free, positively aligned and projected, human computer.

Given the relationship we have established between the material computer and the human computer, it is possible to compare the functions and structures of the two machines. Furthermore, through the analogy of the virus (in other words: negative emotional content) we have also seen that, in both computers, the methods of repair and prevention are similar. As adults, we know that it is better to learn from our mistakes than to repeat them and we strive to achieve this through our careers, our children, and our relationships. These things are often said to be ‘easier said than done’. Yet, when we come to understand the function and structure of a computer, it becomes easier to control and utilize. The same is true of human beings: if we understand how and why our human computers work (especially our hypnotic operating system) we will experience less difficulty in life. With this knowledge, the realm of possibilities becomes limitless. Look at the profound effect technology, mainly computer technology, has had on the lives of humans; we sometimes forget that in our minds is the computer that created this technology. Now, just imagine where we can go from here.
